Our canning series is perfect for beginners and experienced canners alike. Learn the ins and outs of preserving food safely and easily with step-by-step instructions and helpful tips. From jams and jellies to pickles and salsa, you’ll be a canning pro in no time. Say goodbye to wasted produce and hello to delicious homemade goodies that will last for months to come.

To register for any (or all) of these classes, please visit the 2024 Canning Series or call our office at 910-862-4591. Registration fees can be paid by cash, check, or money order. We are happy to help you with the registration process.

FOOD PRESERVATION SERIES

Get ready to dive into the world of food preservation through this hands-on series. Cost is $10 per class (cash, check, or money order); participants can pick which classes they attend. Maximum number of participants is 10 per class and is on a first come, first served basis. To register, visit go.ncsu.edu/2024canningseries, scan the QR code, or visit the Bladen Extension office.

  • Jams & Jellies ~ June 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Meat Preservation ~ June 8, 9 a.m.-12 noon
  • Pickles ~ June 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Pressure Canning ~ June 15, 9 a.m.-12 noon
