A “Peanut Cooking Contest” is being held during the annual Dublin Peanut Festival on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. To be eligible for competition, recipe and registration forms are due by September 13, 2016 at 5 p.m. See attached registration form and rules for more information.

Recipes are being accepted in three categories: candy, bread, and dessert. There are two age groups: Youth (ages 8-16), and Adult (ages 17-up). Age is determined by the age on the date of the contest. All recipes must contain at least one half (1/2) cup of peanuts or peanut butter. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Dublin Primary School cafeteria, and all dishes must be registered by 11:30 a.m. Individuals can enter up to two entries for competition.

Winners in each category will receive the following prizes: first $50; second $30; and third $20. Applications and a complete list of rules are available online or by calling  Sandra R. Cain at North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Bladen County Center, 910-862-4591. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, September 13th, at 5 p.m.
